2017 Pinot Noir Cuvee
Source: Gentleman’s Farmer Vineyard in Southeast Kelowna.
Winemaking: Pinot Noir clones 828, 115, 667 and Mt. Eden are separately hand harvested, destemmed to small batches and cold soaked for 5-7 days before fermentation by indigenous yeasts. The total time on skins is 16 to 21 days. After gentle pressing, the wine completes malolactic fermentation and is aged 13 months in French oak barrels (40% new).
Tasting Notes: Sweet black plum, minerals, and violet floral notes unfold. A deeply concentrated palate with dark red berry and cherry fruit mingling with gamey, savoury, and dried herb flavours. Drink now or will reward careful imprisonment for 10-20 years.
