2018 Pinot Noir Okanagan Valley
A combination of fruit from the Gentleman Farmer Vineyard in SE Kelowna & Golden Retreat Vineyard in Summerland.
Pinot Noir Clone 115 and 667 are separately hand harvested, destemmed to small batches and cold soaked for 5-7 days before fermentation by indigenous yeasts. The total time on skins is 16-21 days. After a gentle press the wine completes malolactic fermentation and is aged 13 months in French oak barrels (25% new).
Aromas of spiced plum, clove, sage and star anise on the nose. The palate displays more fruit; dark cherry, blueberry and blackberry. Well balanced, with soft, integrated tannin.
Enjoy now or cellar approximately 5 years.
375 cases produced.
New release, stay tuned.

Food Pairing: Rigatoni with sausage and peppers, broccoli and cheddar casserole, butternut squash and black bean enchilada, bacon-stuffed mushrooms, and baked brie with sweet pepper jelly. ~ Tony Aspler - My Wine Canada
