100% Clone 95 from the Saddle Block at SpearHead’s estate vineyard in East Kelowna.
Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested and whole bunch pressed. Fermentation occurs in French oak barrels, using a combination of standard barrels and puncheons. The wine is aged in barrel on the lees for 10 months, 25% new oak, and undergoes partial malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes
The nose has gorgeous aromas of ripe mango, candied lemon, and butterscotch. Notes of grilled pineapple, almond, and vanilla gives the palate complexity and depth. The wine is elegant and refreshingly pure to the finish with a touch of creaminess.
Pair with Monterey Jack cheese, pasta with brown butter sauce, shellfish.
