2020 Saddle Block Chardonnay
Clone 95 from Saddle Block Vineyard in SE Kelowna.
The grapes are hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, then fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 10 months, using a combination of standard barrels and puncheons. 25% goes into new oak & partial malolactic fermentation occurs.
Aromas of pineapple, citrus, and baked apple greet the nose. More citrus to follow on the palate accompanied by flavours of honeycomb, hazelnut, and caramel. The finish is long with a creamy mouthfeel.
